Cognitive Behavioral Driver's Inventory

The Cognitive Behavioral Driver's Inventory (CBDI) was developed and thoroughly researched in a clinical rehabilitation setting over a 4 year period with over 230 brain injured patients. Utilizing the CBDI, rehabilitation professionals will be able to reliably and validly classify over 80% of their brain injured patients with regard to driving safety. Research demonstrates that over 95% of the patients receiving passing scores on the CBDI were independently judged by a driving instructor as safe to operate a motor vehicle. All patients who failed the CBDI were judged as unsafe drivers in the independently administered road test.

We have totally redesigned and rewritten the CBDI to run in Windows XP (tm) and Vista (tm). In addition to much improved graphic appearance, enhanced sound and just general improved ease of use, we expanded the report section of the program. One can now store data on an examination, call it back up at any later date and write as many reports from it as desired. Reports can be viewed on the screen and/or printed. The information provided within the reports has also been expanded.

This inexpensive test battery can be administered and a comprehensive report generated in less than one hour. The report includes a summary of the patient's strengths and weaknesses and a detailed visual field reaction time map along with a recommendation of passing or failing in regard to driving ability. The ease of administration, the precision of the test results, the effectiveness of discriminating safe from unsafe drivers, and the comprehensible report will please you as well as your referral sources! The CBDI is sold on a license-to-use, pay-per-run (i.e. examination) basis.
